The Brisbane Barbell Club & CrossFit Torian release their “Eight Week Introduction to Weightlifting” course!

Strictly limited to a total of 12 athletes, you will receive a comprehensive introduction to weightlifting under the direct guidance of dual Olympian & Commonwealth Games gold medallist Damon Kelly who will be coaching each session.

This program will provide each participant with ongoing weekly contact to expert coaches, allowing sufficient time to build your knowledge and then continue your weightlifting journey with your own individualised program (provided during the course).

OVERVIEW

Week 1: Fundamentals I
• Snatch
• Overhead Squat
• Back Squat
• Pulls
• Assistance exercises

Note: Week 1 has a maximum group size of 4 athletes.
Week 2: Fundamentals II
• Clean & Jerk
• Front Squat
• Clean Pulls
• Assistance exercises

Note: Week 2 has a maximum group size of 4 athletes.
Weeks 3-8: Supervised Group Training
• Receive your individualised 6 week weightlifting program
• Supervised training; work through your program under the watchful eye of dual Olympian Damon Kelly
• Technical report card highlighting areas of strength & weakness

Note: Weeks 3-8 have a maximum group size of 12 athletes. By this stage, athletes have sufficient technical proficiency to proceed with a bigger group. Damon will be supervising the group, providing instruction around the principles that were laid out in the Fundamentals sessions.
