Thank you to all those who assisted with the Anzac community event! It was a memorable and emotional day, where past and present service people and their families shared a little bit about their journey and what the day means to them. From the one event, more than $2,000 was raised for Legacy Brisbane, an important cause and one very close to the Torian community. We’re looking forward to making this an annual event.
There were so many people who helped, from those who volunteered to help run the bake sale (which raised more than $500 alone!), cook the barbecue, compete in the HeroWOD, setup the comp floor, and assist with the smooth running of the day. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
In particular, thank you to Brianna Anderson for all her help in the lead up with Legacy Brisbane and for everything on the day; to Peter Campbell and Wilson Purdie for sharing what service to the country means to them and for their contributions on the day; to Alethea Boon for flying up from Sydney specifically for the event and to all the athletes who registered and volunteered their time to help raise awareness to the cause; to all those who showed up to help cheer on the athletes and support the event; to Michael Coppola Photographics and Susan Evans for capturing some incredible moments; to Q Academy for volunteering massage services for attendees; to ATF and Kennards Hire for donating barrier fencing and vehicles; to Mana Mobile Coffee for keeping everyone energised.
Finally, to the dozens of people in the Torian/BBC community who have served, or whose family members have served, contributing to the freedom we continue to enjoy each day. Lest we forget.
